Forestine Minnie Hall

Forestine Minnie Hall, age 99, formerly of Devon, Kansas, more recently of Fort Scott Manor, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at the Mercy Health Center of Fort Scott. She had lived her entire life in the Devon area before moving to the Fort Scott Manor nursing home in December of 2009. She was born October 16, 1911, at Devon, the daughter of Rene Leonard Hall and Myrtle Ann Boosinger Hall. She graduated the 8th grade from Pleasant Valley School, near Devon. She worked all her life on the family farm raising big gardens and flowers. She enjoyed fishing and piecing quilts. She was a very patient and kind lady who loved children and her family very much. She was blessed with many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Forestine was the last of her immediate family having never married.

Survivors include one nephew and caregivers, Robert Robb and wife Janice, Devon; two nieces, Irene Hood and husband Allen and Forestine Goodbody, all of Fort Scott; as well as several great and great-great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Robb; two brothers, Guy and Roy Hall; as well as her parents.

Graveside services for Forestine Hall will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, in the Centerville Cemetery, Devon, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Friday until leaving for the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Fort Scott Manor Activity fund and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, Kansas.
