Panthers rout Lakeland
The Sheldon Panthers baseball team finished its fall season on a winning note by defeating Lakeland High School, 12-4, on Wednesday night.
Junior Eric Leavell survived a shaky first inning on the mound for the Panthers in which Lakeland plated three of its four runs and went on to finish the complete game. Leavell finished the day with 12 strikeouts.
Offensively, Junior Brandon Turner scored three times and sophomore Kasey Jones provided a big two-run double in the second inning and the Panthers never looked back, holding on to take an eight-run victory..
Head coach Jason Irwin's Panthers finished the season with a 4-1 record after three games and a tournament were rained out and no make-up dates ever became available.
