Virginia L. Yoakum, 76, of Valley Center, Kan., formerly of Fort Scott, died at her home Monday evening, Sept. 27, 2010.

She was born March 17, 1934 in Englevale, Kan., the daughter of Harry Rob and Hazel Marie (Scott) Foster.

She married John Stanley Yoakum April 4, 1952 in Fort Scott, Kan. He survives of the home.

In addition to her husband John, Virginia is survived by her son Brad Yoakum and his wife Linda, of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren, Blayne Bradford and husband Michael of Valley Center, Kan.; Janna Atwood and husband Steve, of Wichita, Kan.; Dallas Yoakum, Rachel Yoakum and fiancÚ Christopher Coats of Wichita, Kan.; Jason Reffner and wife Julie of Valley Center, Kan.; Jarod Reffner and wife Erin of Park City, Kan.; and eight great-grandchildren.

Rev. Reed Hartford will conduct graveside services at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kan.

The family will receive friends prior to services at the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home at 12 p.m. and will leave for the cemetery at 12:45 p.m.
