Thelma Marie Armsworthy, age 89, former resident of the Garland, Bronaugh, Missouri area and more recently of Nevada, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at the Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, Mo.
She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Vernon County, Mo., the daughter of Earl Gulliford and Alta Janes Gulliford.
She graduated from Bronaugh High School in 1938.
She married William Kolbe Armsworthy on Dec. 24, 1940, in Lamar, Mo.
Thelma was a member of the Glenwood Community Club. She was very active in the children's school functions including PTO. She enjoyed quilting as well as cooking for her family. Every Sunday she prepared dinner for her grandchildren and any other family members that could attend.
Survivors include her husband Bill, Nevada, Mo.; two daughters, Patty Clinton and husband Don, and Jean Hahnfeld and husband Terry, all of Bronaugh, Mo.; two brothers, V. H. Gulliford, Deerfield, Mo.; and Richard Gulliford, Monnett, Mo.; four grandchildren, Kolbe Starne and wife Abby, Bronaugh, Mo.; Nathan Starne and wife Crystal, Lamar, Mo.; Shane Clinton, Bronaugh, Mo.; and Stacy Clinton, Bronaugh, Mo.
Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Arin, Brant, Ethan and Brody Starne, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Gulliford as well as her parents.
Pastor Ron Woody will conduct graveside services for Thelma Marie Armsworthy at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, in the U. S. National Cemetery, Fort Scott.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 p.m. until leaving for the cemetery at 1:15 p.m. in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
