Crawford County agritourism operators ready for busy fall season

Pittsburg, Kan -- Hickory Creek Farms, Wood Farms and Circle's Pecans and Country Store, three agritourism operations located in Crawford County, Kan., are scheduled to open during the next few weeks for a lineup of fall activities and offer a number of fall specials.

Hickory Creek Farms, located at 426 South 30th Street, north of McCune, Kan., will celebrate its Fall Family Fun Days on the Farm every Saturday and Sunday. from Sept. 25 through the entire month of October from 1 p.m.-7 p.m.

Wood Farms, located at 1122 South 200 Street just southwest of the Pittsburg city limits, will be open Oct. 2 through Oct. 30, on Saturdays, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays, noon-6 p.m.

Circle's Pecans and Country Store, 2499 U.S. Highway 400 southwest of McCune, are expecting its fall crop of pecans in mid-October. Circle's Pecans and Country Store features in-shell and cracked pecans, pecan nutmeats, pecan meal, black walnut nutmeats, candied pecans and homemade-pecan pie.
