Ethel Brown, 84, of Spring Hill, Kan., passed away Sept. 4, 2010, at Royal Terrace Nursing Home, Olathe.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, Kan., (913) 592-2244.
Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott. Friends may call from 9 -- 11 a.m. before the service at the funeral home.

Ethel was born Dec. 18, 1925 in Blooming Rose, Mo., to John and Nancy Pilcher Goins.
Ethel married A. E. "Brownie" Brown, Jr., on Oct. 22, 1943 in Nevada, Mo.
They moved to Fort Scott in 1950 and then to Spring Hill in 1963.
She was a homemaker, who did lots of handwork, and gardening.
She loved taking care of her grandchildren. Family was very important to Ethel and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Brownie in 2009, her parents, her step-father Lee Dicks, sister Margie and brothers Sterling, Don and Everett.
Ethel is survived by her son Terry Brown and wife Kristy of Spring Hill; daughter Donna Bruner and husband Gene of Fort Scott; five grandchildren, Genea Bruner, David Bruner and wife Michelle, Darren Bruner and wife Tracie, Derrick Brown and Brett Brown; four great grandchildren, Kylie, Dylan, and Benjamin Bruner, and Harley Holt.
