IOLA, Kan. -- Fort Scott High School's volleyball team swept a non-league triangular here Thursday, beating Iola and Prairie View.
The Iola scores were 25-12, 25-19. Against Prairie View, the Tigers (6-1) prevailed 25-12, 25-19.
Individual stats are not available for the matches but that doesn't mean head coach Carol Bingesser isn't able to pinpoint how the Tigers performed.
"Our passing improved tremendously, so our hitting was much better than it had been," Bingesser said. "Our middles got some big hits, along with our left sides. Kenzie (Heatherly) had a terrific night serving.
"Overall our passing improved from Tuesday (at Colgan) which in turn let us get better attempts at hitting the ball."
At one point in the second game of the Iola match, the Tigers held serve for 13 consecutive points.
The Tiger varsity is idle until next Saturday when it goes to Erie for a non-league quadrangular. Erie and Southeast-Cherokee will also be in attendance.
