Bob and Marilyn Chandler's Bigfoot No. 8 stopped in Fort Scott Monday and Tuesday during a cross-country tour sponsored by Firestone. 5 Corners Tire and Service hosted the well-known monster truck which was built in 1989 as the first fully-tubular-framed truck dedicated solely to racing. In 1990, it's first full year of competition, Bigfoot No. 8 won the TNT Monster Truck Challenge World Championship by winning 60 percent of the 40 races it ran in and was named the Monster Truck Racing Association's Truck of the Year. The truck stands at 10 feet, 6 inches high and 11 feet, 7 inches wide, and hits the scales at 10,500 pounds. According to Bigfoot staff, about 300 people visited the truck during the two-day event.
