Ethel Naomi Parson, 78, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 15, 2010, in the home of her daughter, in Ash Grove, Mo.
Naomi was born in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of Clarence H. and Emma Juanita McGehee Gragg. She was a longtime resident of the Overland Park, Kan., area.
She and her late husband Charles shared their love for antiques and owned and operated Gift Tree Antiques for almost 40 years.
She was a member of the Overland Park Church of God (Holiness). Naomi loved the Lord, her family and flowers.
Naomi Gragg and Charles Vernon Parsons were united in marriage on Aug. 6, 1950. To this union, five children were born. Together they were priviledged to share over 49 years. Charles preceded her in death in 1999.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, son, Stan Parson, three grandchildren, Charles Anthony Parsons, Emily E. Mozier and Gabriel L. Parsons and seven siblings, Alice Holland, Virtle Gragg, Harlan Gragg, Bonnie Lou Sharp, Jim Gragg, and infants, Virgil and Polly Ann Gragg and sister-in-law Carol Gragg.
She is survived by her loving family, son Dr. Charles Gabriel and wife Brenda Parsons, of Overland Park, Kan.; three daughters, Sheila and husband Garen Wolf of Cincinnati, Ohio; Nancy and husband Dr. John Mozier, Ash Grove, Mo.; and Lisa and husband Steve Antrim of Overland Park, Kan.; daughter-in-law Dean Parsons, of Belton, Mo.; 14 grandchildren: Alexia, Alex, Lukas, Amelia, Brett, Carly, Carla, Carol, Steven, Charles L., Deanna, Sarah, Garentt and Rachelle, 11 great-grandchildren, brother Donald and wife Wanda Gragg, of Belton, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Overland Park Church of God (Holiness) at 6801 W. 74th Street, Overland Park, Kan., with Revs. David Fry and Kenneth Peterson officiating. Interment will follow with graveside services at 1:30 p.m. in Gardner Cemetery, Wheatland, Mo., under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, Aug. 17, 2010 in the sanctuary of the Overland Park Church of God (Holiness) from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the church.
