Clara G. Sears Pace, 87, of Girard, died at 8:25 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 in the Girard Medical Center in Girard.
She was born Oct. 28, 1922 in Altamont, Kan., a daughter of Howard and Kate (Alexander) George.
She grew up and attended schools in Oswego, Kan., and graduated from Oswego High School.
She married Victor H. Sears on May 12, 1946 in Howard George's home in Oswego. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1980.
She married Francis Pace on April 30, 1997 in Hepler, Kan. He survives of the home.
They lived at rural Hepler before moving to the West Ridge Retirement Community in Girard in 2009.
She retired from the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center in Parsons, Kan.
She was a member of the Sherman Baptist Church in Sherman, Kan., and the Girard Medical Center Auxiliary.
She was a lifelong Baptist and loved God and all her friends. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Francis, of the home; include a daughter, Janice L. Kirby and Jerry of McCune; and sons, Howard Sears and Karen of Edmond, Okla.; and Victor Sears and Charlette of Lawton, Okla. Step-daughters are Judith Kruse and Chester of Hepler, Kan.; and Becky Eigenman of Topeka. Step-sons are John R. Koppa and Diane of Mayetta, Kan.; and George Koppa and Marsha of Fort Scott, Kan. Eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy J. Rasmussen, a great-grandson, Geramie Kirby, and three brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with Pastor Harold Groth officiating.
Burial will be in the McCune Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m., Tuesday.
