Sara Louise Krull, age 82, a resident of Fort Scott, died early Thursday, July 8, 2010, at the Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott.
She was born Dec. 27, 1927, in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Frank How Blankenship and Mary Jane McGuire.
She married Floyd Krull on June 24, 1961. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 2000.
Sara was a graduate of the Fort Scott High School.
She later worked as a claims examiner for the Western Insurance Company from 1947 to 1988.
She was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Women.
She was also a member of the Bourbon County Historical Society and the Red Hat Ladies.
She enjoyed collecting antiques.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, Kregg Blankenship and wife, Mary, Lynda Kay Blankenship Allen, Mary Ann Kerley and husband, Richard, Diana Blankenship King, Patty Lou Coleman, Brad Baier, Ben Baier and wife, Laura, Tammara Manna and husband, Kevin and Mary Becker.
Also surviving are numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Mike, Nebby and Bernard Blankenship and two sisters, Carolyn Matthews and Patricia Jackson.
Pastor Gary Demott will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m., Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
