Connie Mische, 60, Metairie, La., passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., following a short illness. She was born on Nov. 2, 1949, in Ft. Collins, Colo., to Harry Allen Wood and Ellen Louise Sanderland Wood. She married James Houston Mische on Oct. 28, 1972, in Nevada, MO, and he survives of the home.
Connie was born in Colorado but lived in a variety of locales as a youth. She worked with her husband and family in the hardware business keeping books and cashiering. She was an avid gardener and loved to arrange flowers. She did extensive Bible study and loved to read.
Survivors in addition to her husband Houston, include three sons, Nathan Mische, Philadelphia, Penn., James J. Mische, and William Mische, both of New Orleans, La.; two grandchildren, Stella Mische and Elliott Mische, both of Philadelphia; two brothers, Glen Wood, Bowling Green, Va., and Tom Wood, New Orleans, La.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Pastor David Rorabaugh officiating. Cremation wiill follow. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funera home.
Memorials may be given to K.U. Medical Center in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
