Conn earns medal for Pleasanton

WICHITA -- Pleasanton's Lindsey Conn earned her school's only medal of the 2010 Kansas State Track and Field Championships here Saturday when she took seventh place in the Class 1A 400-meter dash.

Conn, a freshman, turned in a time of 1:03.87 in the finals. Hallie Kuhlman of Sharon Springs won the race by nearly two seconds in 57.85.

The top seven finishers in each event earned medals.

Pleasanton's Hannah Streeter, another freshman, finished in a five-way tie for 10th in girls' pole vault at 4 feet, 8 inches. Ashley Shearer of Cunningham was the winner at 5' 2".

Mason Coffman was Pleasanton's only other competitor Saturday. He was unable to clear a height in boys' pole vault.
