Steven Wayne Brewer, age 53, resident of Fort Scott, died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, in the Mercy Health Center Emergency Room.

He was born Dec. 9, 1956, in Fort Scott, the son of Eugene Claspill and Callie Sue Spence Brewer.

He married Kathy Munden in 1979. They later divorced.

He married Shelia Marler in 1993. They divorced in 2009.

Steve was self employed as a house painter.

He had attended the Cherry Grove Baptist Church.

His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He loved watching Chiefs football and Royals baseball.

Survivors include one son, Corry Brewer and wife Candice, Olathe, Kan.; a brother, Troy Brewer, Olathe; and a sister Mitzi Davis, Fort Scott.

Also surviving is a grandson, Dylan Brewer, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Dawnita Priest and Belinda Pearcy.

Pastor Chuck Russell will conduct graveside services at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, in the Large Cemetery.

Friends may meet at the Cheney Witt Chapel prior to leaving for the cemetery at 10:05 a.m.
