Lawrence "Larry" D. Buffington, 87, of Lake Tapawingo, Mo., passed away March 4, 2010, at Monterey Park Nursing Home in Independence, Mo.
He was born in Golden City, Mo., the youngest of six children.
He graduated from Fort Scott High School, Fort Scott, Kan., in 1942.
He served his country honorably in the US Air Force during World War II.
He was a member of the Bookbinders Union and worked for KC Coatings, retiring after 25 years.
He enjoyed sailing, fishing and archery.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.
Survivors include brother, Walter Buffington, of Kansas City, Mo., two nephews, and one niece.
He will be laid to rest with Military Honors in US National Cemetery No. 1 in Fort Scott, at 10 a.m., Friday, May 14, 2010.
