Aleta Fern Land, 80 of Springfield, Mo., passed away May 1, 2010.
She was born on July 29, 1929 in Fulton, Kan., and attended Fort Scott High School.
Aleta was united in marriage to Don Land on Feb. 1, 1948, in Fort Scott, Kan.
She was a homemaker and attended the Galloway Baptist Church. Aleta taught children's Sunday School for 45 years and was a substitute teacher at Reeds Spring Elementary.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and good friends.
Aleta was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Hunter and Velma Hunter Dean; daughter, Debbie Carroll; and sisters, Lois Manson and Olive Ruble.
She is survived by her husband, Don Land; son-in-law, Ron Carroll and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Michelle Enno (Shawn), Ryan Carroll (Katie); great-grandchildren, Zack Henry, Brett Henry, Joseph Enno, Kay and Kadyn Carroll.
Services were held May 5, at 11 a.m., in First Baptist Church of Kimberling City, with a visitation prior to the service.
Burial followed in Rivermonte Cemetery.
Visitation was May 4 in Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association, Kidney Foundation, or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
