Tyson announces District 4 candidacy

Caryn Tyson has announced her campaign for Kansas State Representative District 4.

The 47-year-old systems analyst and computer programmer grew up in Kansas and currently lives just south of Parker. She, along with her husband Tim, own and operate Tyson Ranch.

Tyson is an advocate for stopping government waste and protecting the freedoms of Kansas residents. She plans to stress her signature issues of limited government, individual freedoms, and traditional values during her campaign, according to a statement released by Tyson announcing her campaign.

The Kansas State Representative for District 4 is currently filled by Shirley Palmer, D-Fort Scott. As of press time, The Tribune was not able to contact Palmer to verify whether she plans to seek another term.

Tyson is running as a republican.
