The Fort Scott Community College Music Department will present its annual spring choir concert at 3 p.m. Sunday in the theatre of the Danny and Willa Ellis Family Fine Arts Center at FSCC, 2108 S. Horton St.

The program is titled "Through the Eyes of a Child." The opening set will consist of a song cycle by Kansas composer John Leavitt with texts by American poets Robert Frost, Edgar Allan Poe, and Carl Sandburg. A string ensemble will accompany the choir.

Additional selections include Appalachian children songs, a setting of Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky," and folk songs and nursery rhymes. Pianist Kara Probert will perform two selections as her semester recital. Vocalists Greta Adams and Treva Williams will sing Rossini's "Duetto buffo di due gatti." The program will conclude with selections from Les Miserable, featuring various soloists from within the choir.

The choir is directed by Gregory Turner, who will be accompanied by Ronda Bailey. This performance is free of charge and open to the public.
