Helen Yvonne Kelley, age 69, resident of 729 S. Little Street, Fort Scott, Kan., died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at the Mercy Health Center Emergency Room.
She was born July 8, 1939, in Chester, Ark., the daughter of Henry Allen and Carlyn Lane Allen.
She was a graduate of Springdale High School and attended business courses at Fort Scott Community College.
Helen married Donald Edgar Kelley on July 27, 1958, in Springdale, Ark.
She had worked for many years at Mercy Hospital in housekeeping. She also did private sitting in homes. Her hobbies include sewing, gardening and all types of crafts.
Survivors include her husband: Donald, of the home; one son: Donald Kelley and wife Susan, Gore, Okla.; three daughters: Sharon Thompson and husband Jerry, Lori Kelley and Pamela Riggs, all of Fort Scott.
Also surviving are two brothers: Henry Allen, Springdale, Ark.s, and Richard Allen, Ponca City, Okla.; three sisters: Joyce Wilmouth, Betty Perryman and Ruby Allen, all of Springdale, Ark.; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Orval Allen and an infant sister, Callie Allen.
Following private family visitation there will be cremation.
William James Schafer will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 20, in the U.S. National Cemetery.
Friends may meet at the cemetery.
