OSWEGO, Kan. -- Uniontown's softball team scored 34 runs on 36 hits in sweeping a Three Rivers League doubleheader from Oswego here Thursday 11-0 and 23-8.

"Excellent day," Uniontown head coach Alan Shinn said. "We were very aggressive at the plate today and put pressure on the Oswego defense continuously by putting the ball in play. We sent 53 batters to the plate the second game. In the first game, we only faced 17 batters: 15 putouts and 2 walks. We played excellent defense and our pitching was outstanding."

The Eagles (3-1) scored in every inning of the run-ruled opener except the third. They led 4-0 after one, scored 1 in the second, 5 in the fourth and 1 in the fifth. They collected 11 hits.

Candice Clayton and Jessie Camac each had 3 hits while Tayler Shook had 2 hits and also pitched the shutout, allowing just 2 walks -- no hits -- and striking out 9.

Uniontown went on to score 10 runs over the next 2 innings to lead 14-5 after 4 1/2. For good measure, the Eagles, leading 15-8 going into the inning, added 8 runs in the top of the seventh.
