Citizens Bank, NA, recently announced the hiring of Mike McCauley as the new financial advisor for the Raymond James Financial Services center located in the Fort Scott bank.

McCauley is assuming responsibilities from long-time investment center manager Tim Emerson, who is retiring, the company announcement said.

Emerson is retiring after nearly 15 years of service, having joined the bank in the fall of 1995. A native of New Jersey, Emerson moved to a ranch outside Fort Scott in 1974. Tim and his wife, Anne, have been very active in the community, including Tim's involvement in the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Bourbon County Farm Bureau, Gordon Parks Foundation Board, Bourbon County CASA, and the Presbyterian Church.

"It has been a privilege to have the opportunity to serve our customers as their financial advisor," Emerson said. "I am even more grateful for the friendships I have made and look forward to continuing in the future. Anne and I plan to remain actively involved in activities that help this community and Southeast Kansas grow and prosper, and feel fortunate for the 37 years we've called Fort Scott our home."

Tim Bloomfield, the president of Citizens Financial Services, said Emerson "has been a tremendous asset to Citizens Bank, our community, and the many clients he serves."

"Our investment center has grown significantly under Tim's guidance and he always strived to provide each customer with a high level of service," Bloomfield said. "It has been a pleasure to work with Tim for the past 15 years, and we wish Tim the very best as he looks forward to his retirement."

McCauley has 12 years of investment planning experience, starting his career with Merrill Lynch in 1998. In March 2001, McCauley joined the Raymond James office in Paola as a branch manager. He is a graduate of Maryville University in St. Louis, Mo., with a bachelors degree in business administration.

McCauley and his wife, Julia, have five children ranging from 5 to 24 years of age. He began work in the bank's Fort Scott office on Monday.

"We are very excited that Mike is joining our Investment Center team," Bloomfield said. "We were fortunate that we were able to find an advisor with Mike's experience and are certain that he will continue to provide our clients with the level of service they have come to expect."
