Richard E. Booth, Sr., 87, Olathe, passed away Monday, March 22, 2010.
Richard was a proud veteran of World War II in the United States Marine Corps. He was a high school teacher and coach for 40 years. He touched the lives of his family, students and athletes in immeasureable ways. He will always be remembered as a motivator and a man of great character who influenced all he met.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Jacqueline Burdette Booth; son Thomas F. Booth; and eight brothers.
Mr. Booth is survived by children Dick Booth, Jr., Jerry Booth and Jan Glapa; three sisters; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grand children.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, at McGiley & Frye Funeral Homer, 105 E. Loula St., Olathe. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 25, at the funeral home with burial at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
