Participants were able to shoot BB gun on March 6 and air rifle and air pistol on March 7.
Katie Brown, 12, a member of the Bourbon County 4-H Sharp Shooters, and her parents attended the match on both days, where she competed in BB gun and air rifle. Pemberton scored overall 443 points and finished in seventh place. Brown finished with an overall score of 473 and placed sixth.
The Sharp Shooters are looking forward to the next 4H shooting sports match which will be held March 27 at the Miami County Fairgrounds in Paola. All three members plan to shoot at the Miami County match.
Each of the matches they have attended is a state qualifying match, which means if they score at least 275 out of 400, they can compete in BB gun at the Kansas State Shooting Sports Match.
Air rifle competitors must score a 350 out of 600 points to shoot at the state match.
The state match is being held at Waubaunsee High School in Alma on April 17.
