The winners of the Bourbon County Spelling Bee pose for a photo following the contest. The winners were Zadok Self, 8th grader from Fort Scott Christian Heights winning first place; Elizabeth Hall, 8th grader from Fort Scott Christian Heights taking second place; and David Blethin, 8th grader from Fort Scott Middle School winning third place.
Zadok Self will not be able to attend the state spelling bee, therefore Hall will advance to the state competition. The Great Bend Tribune Sunflower Spelling Bee will be held at 1 p.m., March 13, at Barton County Community College, Great Bend. State winners will advance to national competition in Washington, D.C.
