An extra 20 minutes will be added to each school day from Monday, March 8, through Friday, April 9. These 20 minutes will be added differently in the district's schools.
In the elementary schools, these 20 minutes will be added to the end of the school day. During the make-up period, the new dismissal time for elementary schools will be 3:11 p.m. At Fort Scott Middle School and Fort Scott High School, the school day will begin five minutes early and end 15 minutes later than usual. During the make-up period, therefore, the middle school day will begin at 8:05 a.m. and end at 3:21 p.m. The high school day will begin at 7:50 a.m. and end at 3:16 p.m.
During the make-up period from March 8 through April 9, bus schedules in the morning will not change. Buses, however, will run about 20 minutes later in the afternoons.
Breakfast and lunch schedules will not change during this special make-up period.
