FSHS forensics brings more medals home

Tuesday, March 2, 2010
The Fort Scott High School forensic team was in action again on Saturday in Wellsville and Coffeyville.

The group that competed in Wellsville had an outstanding day as 16 competitors made finals. Four team members won championships: Daniel Lyon (extemporaneous speaking), Tony Jackson (informative speech), Kai Simmons-Mims and Chris Herman (duet), and Matt Carrillo (original poetry). This squad won its fifth consecutive tournament.

In Coffeyville, six more Tigers made finals led by champions Allen Pearson (dramatic interpretation), and Caleb Moore (poetry). Overall, FSHS finished third, just eight points shy of first place.
