Donna Louise Simpson, age 60, resident of rural Arcadia, Kan., died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, Kan.

She was born March 10, 1949, in Fort Scott the daughter of Donald W. Horning and Helen Louise Johnson Horning.

Donna was a 1967 graduate of Fort Scott High School and graduated from the Pittsburg State College of Cosmetology.

She married Rudy Simpson on Nov. 3, 1967, in Fort Scott.

She was a beautician in the Mane Room in Presbyterian Village until her cancer illness.

She was a member of the Cherry Grove Baptist Church and the American Baptist Women Mission Group. She was also active in the Farm Bureau serving offices on the County, District and State levels.

Survivors include her husband Rudy, of the home; one son, Matt Simpson and wife Miranda, Fort Scott; and one daughter, Michelle Hudiburg and husband Ken, Fort Scott.

Also surviving is a sister, Carol Henson and husband Bill, Independence, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Dr. Dale Cummins will conduct funeral services at 10 a.m., Saturday in the Cherry Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Large Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in the Cheney Witt Chapel.
