Elwin and Joan have lived most of their married life at their current residence in rural Bronson. Elwin and his father, Louis, farmed and ranched together many years. Elwin enjoyed riding horses and raising cattle. Joan worked many years for Van's Grocery and Locker as well as helping out on the farm. They are now both retired and enjoying friends and many, many of their grandchildren's ballgames.
They had two children, Teresa and Tracy Smith of Moran and Jim and Jo Ermel of Uniontown. They have six grandchildren. Lacy and Keenan Daily (Uniontown), Chase and Lindsay Ermel (Stark), Jacy Ermel, Dain, Kaity and Abbie Smith.
A reception honoring the couple will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, from 2-4 in the Bronson Methodist Annex. The couple requests no gifts, but cards may be sent to 650 Soldier Road, Bronson, Kan. 66716.
