Jack Corporon writes from his home in Brooklyn, NY: "Harriett and I escaped unscathed from the Wilds of Kansas. As we drove from Kansas City to Lawrence last week in the face of storm warnings, a cold, misty rain enveloped us at the end of the journey. By the next morning we had a substantial snow, but it did not interfere with the meeting of the Willliam Allen White Foundation at the University of Kansas." At the meeting they put into place a White Scholarship that he had proposed last year.
Coming on to Kansas the Corporons hosted a great Chicken dinner at the Shead farm, rural Garland. Present were Mitzi and Joel Ray with children Cademon and Atalie from Tulsa, Charles Corporon, Pittsburg, Larry and Vickie Shead and Mary V. Shead, Arcadia where the New Yorkers spent the night.
Sunday dinner was shared together by Jack and Harriett and his brother, Mick and Eloise Corporon in Joplin, Mo. Superbowl Sunday party guests of Charles Corporon were Ms. Jo Ann Triplett, Pittsburg, Jack and Harriett, N.Y. All were PSU classmates in 1949. Jack and Jo Ann sang in the same choral groups. Jack and Harriett cheered for the Saints -- they used to live in New Orleans -- while the other two were for the Colts. They enjoyed Hors d'oeuvres and pizza and spent time reminiscing about the good old days.

All expressed thank you for such a special favor. The congregation welcomed back Pastor David Peterson after his absence of four Sundays attending Seminary in Colorado Springs, Colo. Following his sermon he called the members of Church board, Gary and Patty Peterson, Vera and John Parrish and spokesman Wayne and Christie Parrish forward to announce that David Peterson has resigned as pastor of our church and Valentine Sunday was his last sermon as pastor in this church. He has held this pastorate from May 23, 2004 until Feb. 14, 2010. We give thanks for the five good years he has shared with us and wish him well in his future plans.
