U-234 music dept. plans events

Thursday, February 11, 2010
The USD 234 music department has two activities scheduled to take place within the next couple of weeks.

The district's band program will conduct its winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the FSHS gymnasium, 1005 S. Main St. The concert will feature fifth grade, sixth grade, seventh and eighth grades, and the FSHS concert band. The concert is free of charge and open to the public.

The FSHS music department will conduct a baked potato feed from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, in the FSHS commons area prior to the basketball games pitting the Tigers against Iola High School. The purchase of a $5 ticket will be good for a large baked potato topped with the person's choice of butter, sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese and chili, a beverage and dessert. Tickets may be purchased from any FSHS music student, or at the door the night of the event. Proceeds from the event will benefit the FSHS music department.
