Elaine Ropp, 56, of Fort Scott, died Saturday morning, Jan. 2, 2010 at the Kansas University Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 24, 1953 in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Hubert Cedric and Cora Louise (Anderson) McCurley.
She married Douglas Ropp Oct. 8, 1972 in Fort Scott, Kan. He survives of the home.
Elaine graduated from Fort Scott High School with the Class of 1971.
In addition to her husband Doug, Elaine is survived by her children; Trenton Ropp of Raymore, Mo., Tylerr Ropp of Lawrence, Kan., and Amanda Smith, also of Lawrence, Kan., three sisters; Lucille Langdon of Shreveport, La., Bernie Simmons of Fort Scott, Kan., and Ann Johnston of Fort Scott, Kan., two brothers; Cedric McCurley of Clinton, Mo., and Doug McCurley of Fort Scott, Kan., and eight grandchildren; Weston, Naomi, Cora, Noah, Jude and Alaina Ropp, and Lincoln and Ainsley Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joe Griffin will conduct funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at the FSCC Fine Arts Center, with burial following at the Maple Grove Cemetery.
