Moran to speak at Rotary meeting

The Fort Scott Rotary Club is extending an invitation to the Fort Scott Kiwanis and Pioneer Kiwanis clubs to attend a legislative luncheon program at noon, Dec. 30 at the Fort Scott Golf Course and Country Club, 2414 Horton.

According to Anne Emerson, the tentative scheduled speaker will be U.S. Rep. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., from the First District of Kansas who will speak about current legislative issues on the national level that are of importance to local citizens and business. He will also answer questions from those in attendance.

Emerson said Moran may not be able to attend due to a threat of unsafe driving weather. If Moran is unable to attend the meeting Sen. Bob Marshall, R-Fort Scott, will be on hand to discuss legislative issues being tackled at the state level.
