Sonja Kay Davis, age 57, resident of rural Uniontown, died early Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, as the result of an automobile accident south west of Fort Scott.

She was born May 11, 1952, in Springfield, Mo., the daughter of Charles F. Ford and Edna May Strong Ford.

She married Paul Dwaine Davis on Oct. 27, 1969.

Sonja was a 1970 graduate of Fort Scott High School.

She was employed in the business office at Mercy Health Center.

She loved to sew and crochet.

Survivors include her husband, Paul, of the home; her mother, Edna Campbell, Fort Scott; one son, Adam Davis and wife Katie, Drexel, Mo.; and a daughter, Nicole Davis, Uniontown.

Also surviving are two brothers, Chuck Ford, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Cavin Ford, Fort Scott; two sisters, Kathy Martin, Fort Scott, and Joelene Conner, El Dorado, Kan.; three grandchildren: Blaine Ross, Bryleigh Ross, and Jaxon Davis.

She was preceded in death by her father and an infant sister, Glinda Ford.

Pastor Steve Bell will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the Centerville Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday, Dec. 26, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Cheney Witt Chapel.

The body will lie in state privately in her home from Sunday until service time on Wednesday.
