Tiger JV boys improve to 4-0

Fort Scott High School's junior varsity boys' basketball team has won four straight games after beating Independence Tuesday night, 54-47.

Jaret Thorpe led the Tigers in a road victory with 11 points.

The Tigers also won the Iola JV Tournament. On Dec. 10, they beat host Iola as Matt Wright scored 24 points.

Saturday, the Tigers beat Chanute, 49-35, as Wright scored 20. Thirty minutes after that, Fort Scott defeated Anderson County, 69-33, as Thorpe scored 16 points, Wright 12, Pierce Reinbolt 11 and Kyle Altic 12.

Fort Scott's JV girls held on for a 25-23 win at Independence Tuesday night. No other details were available.

The Tiger freshman girls' team took a 36-25 win over Independence Tuesday as Tiera Floyd scored 15 points.

The most recent report from the freshmen boys came from Friday night's game against Labette County. The Tigers lost, 49-43. Straton Hunziker scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for the Tigers. Marques Floyd added 13 points.

All teams, including the boys' and girls' varsities, play at Columbus Friday night. Girls JV, girls varsity and boys varsity play at the varsity gymnasium at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. Boys JV, boys freshmen and girls freshmen play at Central Junior High School in that order at the same times.

I am pretty sure the boys JV lost in overtime to Labette County.
