Lila Lorene Lewis, age 74, a former resident of Fort Scott, Kan., and more recently of Greenfield, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at her home in Greenfield.
She was born Dec. 22, 1934, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Clarence Hayes and Gladys McAlexander Hayes.
Lila married Auston Lewis on June 11, 1955, at Olathe, Kan.
She had worked as a secretary for the Western Insurance Company for 11 years and later for Mid-Continental Restoration for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Auston, of the home; a son, Perry Lewis and wife, Kathy, Greenfield, Mo., and a daughter, Teresa Cozart and husband, Bryan, Little Rock, Ark.
Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Tim Lewis.
Rev. Chuck Russell will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Marmaton Cemetery west of Fort Scott.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Cheney Witt Chapel.
