The Mother to Mother Ministry of Bourbon County, Inc. is a recipient of a grant from the York Children's Foundation in the amount of $1,500.

Mother to Mother Ministry of Bourbon County, Inc. was nominated by the Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home for their work with the children and the young mothers in the community. Konantz-Cheney Funeral Home Co-owner Michael Cheney said in the nomination that Mother to Mother Ministries of Bourbon County, Inc. gave out more than 9,000 diapers last year.

"Bourbon County, Kansas is a much better place to be a child because of Mother to Mother Ministry," Cheney stated in the nomination.

The York Children's Foundation generates funding for grants each time a York casket is sold and the funeral director returns a registration card. York and the distributor who sold the casket match donations to the foundation. Funeral directors then nominate organization who spend at least 50 percent of their time and resources helping children in their communities. Since 1992, the foundation has donated over $2.5 million in grants to over 1,000 organizations throughout the country.
