Bowman promoted at UMB Bank

UMB Bank, a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corporation, recently announced the promotion of Cindy Bowman to the position of community bank president of Fort Scott.

Bowman will primarily be responsible for maintaining and servicing existing commercial lending relationships while developing new business in Bourbon County, Fort Scott, and surrounding areas. Bowman most recently served as senior vice president for UMB Bank in Fort Scott, a company statement said.

"We're excited to have Cindy in this position," UMB Bank North Central Region President Marty James said. "Her long tenure and experience, as well as proven leadership, are assets to both customers and the community."

Bowman has spent her entire career with UMB Bank of Fort Scott, having started as receptionist and worked her way through various departments and positions, including loan clerk, secretary to the president, loan department supervisor, assistant cashier, assistant vice president, vice president and loan officer, and senior vice president.

Bowman has an extensive history of community involvement and volunteerism. She has been active in community organizations such as the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce Downtown Committee, Leadership Bourbon County, Historic Preservation Association, Phoenix Committee, American Heart Association, United Way of Bourbon County, Fort Scott High School Booster Club and the Greyhound Club.

UMB Financial Corporation, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., is a financial services holding company that owns and operates 135 banking centers throughout Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Arizona.
