Captain LaGreco retires from Navy after 22 years of dedicated service

Captain Louise (Gilmore) LaGreco, daughter of Jack and Jean Gilmore of Overbrook, Kan., retired from the United States Navy on Oct. 1, at her final duty station, Naval Air Station, Meridian, Miss., after serving over 22 years as a Navy Dental Corps Officer.

Captain LaGreco is a 1980 graduate of Fort Scott High School and 1983 graduate of Pittsburg State University.

Captain LaGreco began her active duty Navy career after graduating from the UMKC School of Dentistry in 1987.

Her tours of duty include Naval Training Center San Diego, Calif., Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, USS JASON (AR-8), Advanced Clinical Program in General Dentistry at Naval Station, San Diego, Calif., Branch Dental Clinic Kansas City, Mo., 3D Dental Battalion Okinawa, Japan, Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, Wash., and Naval Station, Pascagoula, Miss.

She and her husband, Major Todd LaGreco, USMC (ret) and son, Anthony plan to eventually retire in Colorado.
