Bourbon County F.C.E. elects new officers for 2010

The Bourbon County Family and Consumer Education Council met recently to plan for the upcoming Fall Follies and elect officers for 2010.

The Fall Follies will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, in the Fellowship Hall of the Community Christian Church, beginning at 5:15 p.m., with refreshments.

Kathy McEwan, Allen County FCS Agent, will then explain how to "Multi-Task Your Meals," which involves sharing ideas and recipes for planning leftovers and creative ways to use them, especially during the busy holiday season.

A second presentation will be given by Joy Purkeypile, Linn County FCS Agent, on "Creative Gift Wraps," a lesson on unique ways to wrap gifts for all occasions.

Everyone is welcome to attend this fun and informative evening.

The following officers were elected for 2010: president, Marge Stringer; vice president, Jeanne Kalm; treasurer, Doris Ericson; and secretary/reporter, Joyce Sinn.

Other business included a report on the successful bake sale at the Bourbon County Fair, a thank you from Brooke Combs for her FCE scholarship, and a discussion of a spring area meeting to be hosted by the Bourbon County FCE.
