The event will feature food, conversation, art, music and bidding on unique artistic items, organizers said.
"It's a way for people who have a common interest in art and music to get together, enjoy it and have a conversation," BCAC Executive Director Peggy Cummings said. "It's a fun evening of people getting together."
Local photographers Kenny Felt and Gary Palmer will be the featured artists for the evening. Attendees will be encouraged to participate in the duo's Fall Photo Contest by voting for his or her favorite landscape photo taken by Felt or Palmer. The contest is an annual event that is not usually open to the public, a statement from Cummings said.
Musical entertainment for the show will be provided by USD 234 orchestra students who will be under the direction of instructor Jane Williams.
Local auctioneer Marty Read will lead an auction of "one-of-a-kind" art pieces created by area artists Rick Barkdoll, a pen and pencil artist from Iola; Linda Teeter, a photographer from Joplin, Mo.; and Barbara Gibson, a jeweler from Fort Scott, Cummings said.
A variety of other pieces of art are expected to be available for attendees to view, Cummings said.
"We never know what we're going to end up with," she said.
Some of the offerings that will be available during the auction include a hand-painted Esteban electric guitar with amplifier; tickets to University of Kansas basketball games; dinner theater tickets; tickets to the New Year's Show at the Liberty Theatre; a luncheon for four at Linderhof; a 14-carat gold bracelet from Bartelsmeyer Jewelry; Christmas-themed items; and other items that will be added each day until the day of the show.
Tickets to the event cost $5 per person. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling the BCAC at (620) 223-1410.
