Wade Robert Byington, age 91, resident of Arcadia, Kansas, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at his home.

He was born July 21, 1918, in Bedford, Iowa, the son of William R. Byington and Georgia Bradley Byington.

He married Marie Sharpless in 1937. They later divorced.

He married Maxine Furhman in 1945. She preceded him in death.

He married Lois Jean Henderson on May 18, 1980 in Reno, Nevada. She died on Dec. 17, 2002.

Wade was retired as an over the road truck driver. He spent most of his 46 years on the road between California and Nevada.

He was a member of the Teamster Local No. 710. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Kendrick and husband Jack and Marjorie Turner, all of Fort Scott; a sister, Garland Frischenmeyer, Chanute, Kan.; 8 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving is a nephew, Bill Byington and wife Diane, Lawrence, Kan.; and special friend and caregiver, Pauline Smith, Arcadia.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Georgia Byington; granddaughter, Valorie Davenport; grandson, Jack E. Grubb; and four brothers.

There was cremation under the direction of Cheney Witt Chapel.

Private family burial will take place in Reno, Nevada at a later date.
