FSCC sponsoring several theater trips

Fort Scott Community College sponsors a variety of events related to theater and cultural arts throughout the year for the community to enjoy.

Prices for the trips include transportation and tickets. This year, FSCC will sponsor trips to see the following shows: "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play," "A Branson Christmas," "Run for Your Wife," "Cactus Flower," "Becky's New Car," and "The Buddy Holly Show."

On Nov. 20, "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play," will be shown at the American Heartland Theatre in Kansas City.

"A Branson Christmas" will be shown from Dec. 11-13. Highlights of the trip include the Showboat Branson Bell, Twelve Irish Tenors, 50s at the Hop Show, "Miracle of Christmas," shopping, and stops at some of the best restaurants in Branson, Mo.

On Feb. 5, 2010, "Run for Your Wife" will be shown at the New Theatre Restaurant in Kansas City. This show explores the life of a taxi driver who tries to keep his life under control while having two wives living on different sides of town.

"Cactus Flower" will be shown on April 2, 2010, at the New Theatre Restaurant. The show is about a bachelor dentist who tries to keep his girlfriend away by having his nurse pose as his wife.

"Becky's New Car" will be showing on May 7, 2010, at the New Theatre Restaurant. The show's title character allows a flirting billionaire to believe she is widowed despite being married.

"The Buddy Holly Show" is going to be shown on Aug. 13, 2010, at the New Theatre Restaurant. This show tells the story of Buddy Holly's life and features many of the performer's classic songs.
