OLPE -- Defending Class 2-1A State runner-up Olpe shut out visiting Uniontown, 48-0, here Friday night. Olpe was ranked No. 2 in Class 2-1A by the Wichita Eagle going into the contest.
The Eagles (2-4) was held to 62 yards of total offense in 37 plays by Olpe, which also calls its teams the Eagles.
Olpe gained 326 of its 381 total yards on the ground.
"Olpe is a very physical team that has outscored their opponents 273 to 12 so far this year," Uniontown head coach Chad Stroud said. "We were dominated up front on both sides of the ball. They will go very far in the playoffs, as usual.
"We were without two of our top players going into the game and lost a couple more during the game. Several freshmen stepped in and played hard in their place."
Max Labbe led the Eagles with 9 tackles while DuShaun Robinson and Trenton Miller had 8 each.
The Eagles open Class 2-1A District 7 play Friday night with a trip to winless Pleasanton. In the other distirct game, Pittsburg Colgan (5-1) will travel to winless Northeast.
The Eagles will be back at home the following week against Northeast.
