Arthur Bray Jr., 79, Liberal, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at his home in Liberal following an illness of a few months. He was born March 12, 1930, in Liberal, to Arthur Bray Sr. and Tina Hackney Bray.
Arthur spent most all of his life in this area. He worked for a time at Sheffield Steel in Kansas City, Mo. He worked for many years for Thorco in Lamar, just recently retiring. He also did some farming.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Hill and her husband Steve, Webb City, Mo., Betty Bray, Liberal, and Barbara Osborn and her husband Lloyd, Lawrenceville, Ill.; two sons, Arthur Bray III and his wife Rita, Sheldon, Mo., and Ernie Bray and his wife Cynthia, Neodesha, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Bray, Liberal; two sisters, Vernie West, Liberal; and Nina Mae Bray, Fort Scott. He was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Ashley Nicole.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 8, at Moore Cemetery, Nevada, with Michael Perry officiating.
