John Raymond French passed away on Oct. 4, 2009 in Richardson, Texas at the age of 71.
He was born on Sept. 13, 1938 in Springfield, Mo., to Raymond and Henrietta French.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marianne French; children, Kathryn Eades and husband Alan of Hobbs, N.M., Suzanne Rawley and husband Craig of Houston, Texas and Leigh Ann Sutton and husband Mark of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Rachel and Hilary Eades, Jake and Emma Rawley and Rhianna and Sienna Sutton; and numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Mr. French is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patricia Muncie and Grace Ann Rowe.
John graduated from Kansas State University and was employed with Travelers Insurance for 33 years, working in the Employee Benefits division. At the time of his retirement he held the position of Vice President of Sales for the Southwest Region.
After retirement, Mr. French was instrumental in helping to create a new campus for the First United Methodist Church-Richardson.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church-Richardson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church designated for the Columbarium and Gardens, 503 N. Central Expy, Richardson, Texas 75080.
