Tiger soccer posts 4th shutout of season

Fort Scott High School's soccer team recorded its fourth shutout of the season Saturday as the Tigers defeated Paola, 4-0, at Ellis Park.

Fort Scott (4-4) is just one shutout shy of matching their total for the previous three seasons combined. Freshman goalkeeper Brett Allen has posted each of this year's shutouts.

Griffin Hulbert scored the Tigers' first goal on a header off a pass by Jason Trejo on a free kick. Max McAllister scored the second goal. Hulbert picked up the third goal on a corner kick pass by Matt Scharenberg. The final goal was put in by Josh Buller off a McAlister pass.

Fort Scott's JV lost to Paola 6-3. David Goff, Aaron Cowlishaw and Andy Cowlishaw scored the Tiger goals.

Fort Scott played at Spring Hill Monday and lost 9-0, according to information provided by the Kansas City Star. The Tigers are scheduled to be in Coffeyville today and host Neosho, Mo. Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
