Leandra Thomas - Barry Sladen

Leandra Thomas and Barry Slayden announce their engagement and upcoming marriage on Oct. 3, 2009, at 3 p.m., at Sedgwick County Park in Wichita, Kan.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Carolyn Thomas of Harwood, Mo. The prospective groom is the son of Donald Slayden, of Attica, Kan., and Jeannie Subera, of Anthony, Kan.

Leandra is a 1997 graduate of Northeast Vernon County School. She is currently employed by Joyful Noise Child Care in Gossel, Kan., where she is a closing teacher. She is also taking early childhood development classes at Butler Community College. Barry is employed by AGCO in Hesston, Kan., as a crew chief.
