Tigers take part in Iola meet

IOLA -- Fort Scott High School's cross country team participated in Iola's Doc Stiles Invitational here Tuesday.

In the 5-kilometer boys' varsity race, Robert Sellers was 29th in 18 minutes, 35 seconds. Logan Fancher finished 36th in 18:50, Keenan Gregory 39th in 19:04 and Charlie Sercer 47th in 19:36. The race-winning time was not available.

In the 4K varsity girls' run, Jenna Harper finished 21st in 18:36 and Morgan Tourtillott was 27th in 19:11. Paige White of Baxter Springs had the winning time of 16:14.

In the junior varsity girls' race, Leah Cassleman turned in a time of 20:12 for 15th place while Midkiff finished 16th in 20:20, just missing out on a medal. Autumn Owenby was 22nd in 21;28, Katelyn Torres 30th in 22:21 and Hannah Fredericksen 39th in 23:55. Fort Scott finished second in the team standings behind Pittsburg.

Kyle Altic finished 22nd in the JV boys' race with a time of 21:02. Colton Ballou was 24th in 21:13 and Alex Ho was 44th in 23:05.

A freshmen boys' race was also held with Anthony Sercer finishing sixth with a time of 16:45 and Austin Sather turning in a time of 18:21 to finish 19th.
