BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. -- The Lady Mustangs from Christian Learning Center made the long drive north to face Plaza Heights Christian Academy on Sept. 3. The match was close from the beginning as PHCA won the first game 25-23. CLC came back to win the second game 25-22. The momentum from the second game carried to the third as CLC prevailed 15-7.

"Our defense really stepped up," CLC head coach David Kitsmiller said. "It was a challenge to play a much larger school on their home court. Our girls responded with great effort and competitive spirit."

Kensi Kitsmiller led the points off serve with 13 for the match, followed by Krysta Young with 9 and Haley Davis with 8.

CLC will work to carry this momentum into matches Saturday in Webb City, Mo., as they begin regular-season play in the Mid-America Christian Conference.
