David N. Kuns, age 71, a resident of Uniontown, Kan., died unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his home in Uniontown.
He was born Feb. 26, 1938, in Bronson, Kan., the son of Dale Kuns and Lucille Entzminger Kuns.
David was a 1956 graduate of Bronson High School and graduated from Fort Scott Community College where he excelled in football.
He married Norma Jean Clark on July 28, 1956. She preceded him in death on December 4, 2004.
He married Kathy Seaton on May 31, 2008.
David was pastor of the Bronson Baptist Church for the past nine years. He also was employed by the Uniontown school district as a bus driver.
He was a member of the Bronson Masonic Lodge and the Fort Scott Scottish Rite. David was active in the Uniontown Ruritan Club.
He loved his organic garden, hunting, fishing, and playing bridge.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy, of the home; three sons, Sam (David Wayne) Kuns and wife Nancy, Wichita, Kan., Jim Kuns and wife Peggy, Mapleton, Kan., Randy Kuns and fiance, Tammie Winter, Bronson, Kan.; and one daughter, Kathy Yount, Fort Scott.
Also surviving are five sisters, Judy Gifford and Martha Ivy, both of Girard, Kan., Mary Graham Uniontown, Kan.; Nancy Hendrickson, Pittsburg, Kan.; and Frances Kuns, Amarillo, Texas; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Henry Joe Yount.
Pastor Marshall Lackrone will conduct funeral services at 10:30 a.m., Saturday in the Bronson Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in Bronson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Cheney Witt Bronson Chapel.
